The Pine School is seeking an Academic Center Assistant for the upcoming school year 2025-2026. The position is part-time, but it has the potential to become full-time in the future.
Summary Description
This role is critical in managing the distribution and administration of classroom testing in the Academic Center, ensuring that all students' testing accommodations are implemented effectively. The successful candidate will work closely with academic support teachers to provide a supportive environment for students and will report directly to the Director of Academic Services. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals currently in college or recent graduates who are passionate about educational support and student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Test Distribution & Administration: Oversee the distribution and administration of classroom assessments in the Academic Center, ensuring tests are provided to students in a timely and organized manner.
- Implementation of Testing Accommodations: Ensure that all students' testing accommodations (e.g., extended time, separate testing environments) are implemented according to their individualized plans, maintaining a fair and supportive testing environment.
- Collaboration with Academic Support Teachers: Work closely with academic support teachers to identify and provide additional resources or assistance to students during their assessments and throughout the academic year.
- Monitor Testing Environment: Ensure a quiet, organized, and conducive testing environment for all students, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism during assessments.
- Student Support: Provide support to students in the Academic Center, offering guidance on assessment-related concerns and fostering an atmosphere that promotes academic success.
- Record Keeping & Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of students’ assessments, accommodations, and results. Assist in compiling data for reporting and tracking student performance.
- Maintain Academic Resources: Help maintain a clean and organized Academic Center, ensuring materials and resources are readily available for teachers and students.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with additional administrative and academic tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to handle multiple assessments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in basic office software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
